I should have also mentioned that I am open to offers. You may email me at [email protected] if you would like to speak further. Thanks.

haha I remember people saying that, but I think that nasioc uses the same forum server as zilvia, so you can properly say it here too.

The transmission is smooth as hell, and will not need replacing. I never planned on modding the engine ever, and if I did I certainly wouldn't break 300hp without building the engine from the ground up. I am pretty sure all subaru wrx transmissions have the heightened potential to eat shit after 300hp, but bugeye trannys saw a higher rate of failure. I am sure that my transmission is in great shape, because I drive it everyday with no problems, and it is the smoothest transmission I have ever had on a car. The clutch was replaced recently and the flywheel was resurfaced.

As for the timing belt... that is harder to answer. I purchased the car from an older man in LA, who had driven the car from its birth in 2001 until the 100,000 mile mark. I have contacted him to see if he has replaced the timing belt, with no answers. It is entirely possible that he did replace the timing belt in the 80k to 100k mile range, but it is not a sure thing. I thought about replacing the timing belt a while back, as it wouldn't cost much for me to do, but with my style of driving I know it isn't a necessity for a while. I have consulted various shops and mechanic friends about it, and they feel that I am quite fine for the time being, and my car should run without any problems until 175k + miles. They have even taken the cover off because I wanted to know if they could visually see if the belt was new or 120k miles old, and they thought that it looked rather new, with no stress or cracking problems at all. Again though, no assurance. For personal reasons I wouldn't let the timing belt thing go for much longer than that without replacing the timing belt anyways. If I were to make it into the 200k mile range on the stock engine, a timing belt would become a necessity at that point. As for now, it is not necessary.

You make valid points about the subaru timing belt, and the subaru transmission, but they don't apply to this vehicle because A. I know how to drive B. I drive like a grandpa (slow) C. This vehicle has never been raced and D. The original owner was an older, mature guy.

The rumors about WRX transmissions grenading and timing belts exploding comes from the numerous reports from boi racer high schoolers who drop the clutch when they street race home from school everyday. That is my impression of a lot of subaru owners, at least, and I don't quite fit that mold. I am a berkeley hippie that goes as slow as possible to save gas.

Since your comments and my response may scare some people, I can offer a timing belt replacement at a very small price on top of the price of the car. The transmission I will not plan on replacing before selling, because I am sure of its quality.

Thank you for pointing those things out though because I am sure they are on some buyers' minds, and I hope I cleared things up. If not, re-respond. I am here to answer questions.
