Well it's my first annual however I have a history of mitral valve prolapse. as far a getting my class 1 I'm sure that disqualifies me. I'm going for a class 2 but I'm sure I only need to have class three for my area of study (aviation management- ATC)
The mitral valve prolapse is caused by Marfan syndrome, I do show external featuers of MVP; pectus excavatum (chicken chest), double jointed, and high arch palate. As for internal features there is no evidence of dilatation in my Aorta, but there is a small flap in my mitral valve.
with that being said I want to know if that will completely disqualify me or am I over thinking this?
more so if it does disqualify me, is there a way to waive it or get a special clearance?
edit: my heart, upon results of an echo, revealed only mild mitral valve prolapse. and that the ascending aorta is well within normal range
