Sometimes the starter circuit making a click could mean your battery cannot put out enough amperes to crank granted the voltage may be high enough. It's happened to me and on several different cars.

+1 on battery. You can charge it all you want and get it up to 12V but if its dead cranking power wise, it wont start the car.
