I am planning on a tranny swap. they guy that sells the tranny has 95 ecu which he claims to be OBD2 .. i have a 96 240. which is by default OBD2

. My question is can i safely be sure that i can buy that stuff from him .. or i would have to buy a 96 ECU ?
precise answer would be gread since i am short in money ..
