What sucks about the current state of drifting is several things.

While competition can be cool and fun the way its currently done in FD sucks. Not being able to pass your opponent in a drift is bullshit.

That is one of the things( being able to pass your opponent) that makes the competition more of a competition and race and less of just an exhibition. Unfortunately the powers that be in FD just fail to realize that.

Like others have said the focus on crashing as well. Improperly setup courses is that can enhance the crash factor is another.

The other stuff is the fanboy, the kids that cannot drive but buy the cars and improperly set them up. A lot of this has already been brought up already so I do not think I need to go over it again.

The kind of drifting that is done in the snow, wet, WRC or movies is usually different then "Drifting" as we think about it. These are almost always done after the Apex of a turn.

The Motorsport of Drifting means you initiate the drift before the turn, and hold it as smoothly as possible.(this includes outlaws and other sports that used it long before the "JPN" style).
