Makes sense, I was trying to incorporate the OEM circuitry while trying to figure this out. I think I'll just leave mine the way it is for now. But applying this step I think only 4 relays would be needed. (plus the 2 for this procedure, so still 6 total, but would require a different wiring scheme all together within the relays).
