Sorry about bumping my old thread, but I have a question which I believe is related to this, at least partially.
I finally put my transmission on, however, I noticed that the clutch fork is stiff. In the past, I remember that I would be able to press it by hand (where the slave cylinder presses it) and it would move quite a way before the throwout bearing would come in contact with the pressure plate. In the same manner, when I let go off it, it would return back to its original position.
This time, after installing the transmission, it seems that the throwout bearing is pretty much resting against the pressure plate. If I press on the fork, it does not really move at all, and I can feel that the throwout bearing instantly presses against the pressure plate.
I do not have the slave cylinder installed yet, but so far it does not seem that the throwout bearing actually exerts any pressure on the pressure plate when the fork is not pressed. It is just that there is basically zero clearance.
Does this mean something is wrong? Do I have to take the transmission off again, or will my clutch just engage super early? Will it pose a problem, or should it still function correctly?
Thank you for any help.
