there is no difference in "performance". lift is still lift and duration is still duration. When regrinds require many thousands taken off bearing caps, the issues is with rocker arm angle. With any high lift cam solid adjustable lifters should be used, and with huge regrinds adjustable lifters are necessary to get appropriate rocker angle, and valves "may" need to be shortened.
