First of it is a distributor NOT a dizzy, this is not Honda-Tech.

It did not jump, it can not jump 180* from where it was installed. You most likely set it to TDC on the exhaust stroke, not the compression stroke.

Set it to TDC, then remove the oil fill cap and look at the cam lobe for cylinder 1. Make sure it is pointing out or away from the center of the engine. Install the distributor pointing towards cylinder 1 post on the cap. Start car and set timing with a light.
