I just wanna get this straight you are trying to convert the 95 back to a KA and have it smog legal right? The '97 is going to eventually get the sr.

IMO your best bet would be to swap the '97 Ka, engine harness and ecu to the '95 if you want to pass emissions. There are subtle differences between the '95, '96, and '97/98 harnesses and ecu's keeping them all matching the engine would be your best bet. I am not sure how smog will react to the ecu not matching the car year but mabye your '95 does not have an OBD port and they will not scan it. There are some '95s that are OBDI and there are some that are OBDII, its a transition year, wierd.

Frankly, you are better off keeping the kouki as your smoggable car. If you want the kouki look, swap body panels.
