Next time it doesn't work instead of rolling the car forward or whatever, just try smacking the starter with a large wrench or something and see if it starts then.
That's what happened to mine and it turned out to be the starter.
Have you ever replaced your starter? If you haven't or even if you have but like 2+ years ago I'd try a new starter.
