Ok gotcha.
Yes, The clutch fully engages and disengages. I can keep it in first gear, on a flat plane, with my foot on the clutch and the car doesn't move. Also, Yes, the gears grind if you don't double clutch or rev match as well as it's impossible to get it into reverse. That's why I figured the gearbox is shot - it's got like 200k miles on it so it's to be expected.

Can I just take the back end of the transmission off the bellhousing then and put the rebuilt trans right on there where the old gear box is or are the bolts impossible to get to and I'll have to jack the engine up a little to unbolt the gear box? I'm trying to do all this without disconnecting the bellhousing that's already there and not having to unbolt the whole tranny from the engine since I figure that'd be the easiest. Are the sensors the same from the ka24de going on to a ka24e (both s13 engines not s14)?
