factor in using any plastic or a bad spot to exchange USD too YEN = subtract 8-15points more from the interbank rates.
Heard those stories when breakfast in japan was about $60usd and can of Pepsi/Coke were $3usd. yup they are back.
but just a quick visit to lawsons in the morning for a couple of items can be had for wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy less.
