Tell them to take off the oil pan and bang it out so the pump actually can suck oil.
BTW, if they drove it around like that for more than about 30 seconds, the bearing(s) is probably already toast. But maybe you'll get lucky. When you go to pick it up, make SURE you start it up and let it idle for at least 5-10 minutes, and then rev it a few times. Also, hold the throttle at about 3000 rpm...a rod knock will usually resonated about there.
