take a picture of the problem. i'm not sure what you mean by "too close together". it's a solid piece of metal; it didn't change when you took it off. are you trying to bolt the caliper on the wrong side of the mounting bracket?


read this, ignore the retrofitted bracket/rotor stuff. make sure your brackets everything look like this when reassembled.
