I hate running and the only reason I run is because we have mandatory PT. I have high arches and have always had issues with my lower back hurting after running. I've been a consistent 11:15 + or - 15 seconds mile and a half runner. I started running on vibrams about 6 months ago. Sucked the first couple months since I had to train/force myself to run "tippy" and land on the front of my feet instead of the heel. Once I got used to it, I noticed that I run a faster pace, up hills are easier (first couple weeks are hell on your calves) and my back doesnt hurt. Surprisingly, the impact running on these are not as bad as I thought they would be. Its not exactly comfortable running on them (socks help tho) but I have no pain what so ever the moment I stop running. I used to have back pain and some knee pains half the day after running with running shoes. Also, I shaved almost 30 seconds on my run test down to 10:40 mile and a half.
