I can go on westlaw and find out anything about anyone if I wanted to... with your name and your location I could probably find your SS, and with that I could get address, phone number, employers, medical information, any arrests/convictions... not to mention your race, your family...
its scary what you can do online. But westlaw is expensive and I will assume petty theives don't have access to it.
