This was the pre-Fuel filter that has some check valve drain back thing. Not the easy to get at one. The one that you've got to drop the tank to get at. Which you have to drop the rear end to get to the tank.
All the batteries didn't crap out. The positive terminals broke off.
There is no upgrading the rear end unless you want to swap it out for a 12bolt rear for $1500 or install a custom 9". It's pretty much screwball. It's the same rear gearset that was used since the 1985 model. The V6 and V8's all got same rear end. Same with the power window motor. 1985-02. Which is pop riveted in place. The shit is ghey as hell. Rumor has it, you can get some cadillac motor that lasts 2x as long. I forgot. The cats in both have been replaced under warranty.
My suzuki still is running on stock battery, stock rotors at 70k and 5 years. It's not impossible to make parts that last.
