But this isn't anonymous (any more so than the rest of the internet) since it posts your screen name. And it doesn't follow you. With the rep system, if you went negative, everyone could see it on each of your posts. With a dislike button, most of the time it would be "That was a douchey comment, I can see why everyone dislikes it." Not the rep system's "This guy mush be a douche because he has red squares under his name but I have no idea why." Individual posts having a "score" would be very different than the rep system. Also, no particular power is behind any specific person's vote like the rep system aside from name recognition.

For those that don't know/remember, those with negative rep or minimal positive rep could do little to no damage to your rep if they disliked something. Those with massive rep points could make massive swings in your rep points.
