Problem comes in that if you want to maintain the same guard to wheel lip distance (ie have rim just tucking in guard) you will always be lower with smaller diameter wheels.

edit: Assuming that the rolling diameter doesn't change.

Imo 19's or 20's on 350z are ideal. 18's just look far too small on a car with such large guards.
