New tires normally don't chunk unless you over heat them by running to much or to little air pressure. The tire will get heat expansion in the middle only if you use to much air. This will make a tire chunk due to the tread not all expanding at the same rate. Like cheap glass cracking on a hot day when you spray water on it.

Old tires just suck....
