Like empyre said its dry ice in cubes !!! let it sit on the sound deadening for 10 to 15 min... Put a garbage bag on top of it (its going to slow the evaporation of the ice and you'll be able to do more surface like that)
After the 15 min remove the dry ice a place it over and other place you want to clean or remove the sound deadening !!!
Take a hammer and hit it ... It should come off as one big piece or explode in pieces .... After that finish sith thinner
