Hell, you can just tell the sidewall differences from model to model of the same size tire by eye. Some have more "rounded" or broad shoulders, some have more "square" or "oblong" shoulders. Like my example of a 512 vs 912. The 512 has a much more oblong (thus thinner looking) sidewall vs the 912 looking much "beefier" or "rounded" at the sidewall corners. So, taking that, the 512 would rub a lot less and look "more" stretched, giving you the EFFECT of running "narrow"
