Sorry to join the thread after it seems to be at its end, but I would agree with most people and don't buy any of these. The best thing to do is save up and wait for something clean unless you have to have a car. I had a job over summer and had to get to school at the same time, so I had to have a car. If I could, looking back on it, I would have saved my money and waited for something else to come along.

Buying a used car is like shooting a shotgun at a deer: it will be cheaper than buying something that has been carefully processed, but you may bite a bullet.

As for rust, engine problems, and other things; if you buy a car where the owner is knowledgeable and honest about what is wrong, and you have the money to fix it, you will have the time of your life. If the previous owner was like the one who owned my car before me, you will think everything is all right until it breaks down on you.
