You dont need to drop your steering column. I've done this 3 times in my s13. Tilt the wheel down like you have it, take off the steering column cover pieces, take out all the screws for the thing that holds the hazard, light, defrost buttons, etc etc..get that moving around. Undo all the screws for the gauge cluster, clock the cluster up and back..then sideways, then back up, then back, then more sideways then pull out. Oh, during this whole process, you have to constantly move the steering wheel up and down for screwdriver clearance.






Or you could just listen to the other people on the board and drop the steering column. Hell of a lot easier.
