Here's 215/45 with a decent amount of rear camber:

Now, imagine a 225/45. You will need more than a pull unless you want to run an unnecessary amount of camber.

IMO, the best way to do 9" +12's is 225/40 or 215/40 if you're in a mild stretch mood.
