You guys kill me sometimes. Some of you dont know your ####### from your face. This is a good looking wing. Do you really think that a 2 pound wing is going to slow you down??
Sorry to tell you that it has no effect on the car, except at around 80mph - then the wing has a use. There is not enough drag on these wings. [Not] enough to effect your car in the 1/4 mile. The most any of these wings on this topic will slow you down is about 0.004 sec. Well i think i can risk that 0.004 slower to have some style to the car.
and thats my 4 cents

Easy killer;). First off, I think that the Type X wing and the others were added as examples of nice looking wings that give your car style without looking stupid (The wing at issue is that 8-12 inch high touring car looking thing). I think other fine examples would be the Nismo, small Bomex, or Do-Luck wings (since it IS an s14 we are talking about). The one for the Silvia Aero would be a good choice if you want a functional wing, as it works in clean air - but is too large for some of us.
As for the drag coef., most wings, incl. the factory spoiler and the Nismo version, don't do a #### thing on an s14. Not even 0.0004! That one, however would due to its height. Also, since functional ground effects generally begin to work at speeds of about 50 mph, the driver *may* feel some slight effects. I say this b/c I know people who have built splitters, undertrays, and lips that have made noticeable differences in the feel of the car at highway speeds. And yes, I've actually seen dents in the trunks of Civics from running a wing very similar to this one.
I don't think anyone here is against style and we know that it won't slow us down, but I think we all like to see some level of taste. I think what you said is absolutely accurate, but it seems like you didn't quite get the tone. Just trying to interpret...
