I wish D'Antoni would be fired. I hope Jim Buss surrenders his "basketball operations" job. And playing old men under heavy minutes will only get you swept in the first round of the playoffs. Offseason 2014 is going to be nuts though.
If Dwight resigns, I don't believe he deserves max. But the Lakers will probably give it to him. I can't see myself as a GM, relying on him to make great plays to get W's or carry a team to the finals.
And as for Pau, love that guy but the Lakers are not the right fit for him --under D'Antoni. It is likely that this was his last game in Purple and Gold. He's such a great player and his stats speak for themselves. He isn't THE guy to carry a team but he's definitely a key factor into the Lakers success. It's too bad, D'Antoni didn't realize this because it may be too late.

I can't see Dwight as THE GUY either, unless he somehow turns into Shaq, but after all these years he still hasn't got any type of go to offensive move or footwork down so I don't see that happening with the time he has left. I think he thinks he can score like Shaq or be even better than him, but the truth is Shaq was an automatic 2 points (or 3pt play) when you fed him the ball inside. Dwight has no moves so when he gets the ball inside he will sometimes score if he is lucky and has good positioning, but if he doesn't then he ends up mucking around with the ball and turning it over (which happens a lot).
Dwight needs a great unselfish PG who will look for him all the time and create offense for him. Someone who can draw both defenders when driving and will throw him lobs to finish (someone more like Chris Paul and less like Kobe because let's face it, Kobe will shoot that shit haha) and Dwight should be content with that role for what's left of his career. Karl Malone made a living doing that, so he shouldn't feel like less of a man or lose his pride in that. With the right PG and his athleticism and defensive prowess, I can see him playing like some freak of nature love child that Tyson Chandler and Blake Griffin made.

I agree 100%, had Dan Gilbert not opened his Pie hole Stern would have let CP3 go to L.A and life would be so much better for the Lakers right now. The problem is finding such a PG with the limited cap space. I think L.A only has the $3M mid-lvl at this point. I really hate to say this but part of me sees Jim Buss using his Amnesty on Kobe. It's a retarded move I know but I can see him doing this. This way he can show Dwight that he is the future of L.A.
