I don't think they did all this as a media hype tool... I honestly think this was the direction they want to take. Good for us for speaking out and calling them on their bullshit!
And don't think "MS is too smart to make a mistake like this" big companies make big mistakes ALL THE TIME.

Hopefully this puts the nail in the coffin for ridiculous DRM restrictions.
