Every gear is hard to get into, the trans was never taken apart when out of the car. I'm using the stock shifter and the plastic bushing looked fine will inspect better when i get home.

i had this same problem with a civic about 2 months ago. turns out one of the spring retainer lips sheared off and got lodged between the friction disc and pressure plate. the throwout bearing, m/c s/c and pressure plate did their jobs.
Flywheel and pressure plate were torqued according to the FSM, flywheel was not turned due to it having >5k miles.
