if I was to consider doing something like this. I would get a longblock (or even shortblock if I could find one) and do the internals my way, by the guy that built many motors for me and my friends. OE is great, but if you know how to rebuilt a motor (or know some1 else that can) its going to be better in the end.

yeah i guess you have a point. but sr longblocks are too freaking expensive especially when you risk getting a blown one.(guaranteed good engine is cool for like 500-800, but you're more likely to pay 1000+ with no guarantee) plus they are getting more and more rare . i dont think it's gonna go away..look at corollas. they are like 3-4 grand right now cause they are so rare. They are only going to go UP in price.
