It is not on a Impreza platform.
I'm calling utter bullshit without any proof. I know for a fact that Toyota unvieled the GT86 concept long before anyone even knew it would be a flat-4 or a joint venture. You can also just look at the damn car and know full well that Subaru's styling team didn't even get to comment on the cars appearance.
