If you put a properly sized turbocharger on the KA,you will proble loose some of the lower end of the TQ but have mad crazy mid-range and decent top-end. Boosted mid-range on a KA is really a nice way to go. Search for Aceinholes (IIRC,did I spell that right?) Posts about KA-Ts and search around. They can make very good power,it just all depends on what you want.
Cliff Notes: If you want swapped torque, get an RB series engine. If you don't want a hybrid swap, turbocharger the KA.

WTF? When did the neighborhood moderator's KA-T get forgotten? If you want a place to start, the specs of my car are linked in my sig. That setup is overkill for a KA-T, and power is only limited by my 50# injectors, at 15-18psi making 350-360rwhp. After that is 72# injectors. My next step is a limited slip, suspension, and metal headgasket with ARP head studs. Then a trip to 10psi/300hp daily and 15psi/350hp racing. When I get bored, simply swap injectors and ecu and go for nasty power.
My first car had a SBC in it, so for me, torque was the way to go. And it doesn't get any torquier (is that a word?) than driving 0psi to 2600, and having full boost at 2900 to redline. Cams help the car to bounce off the rev limiter when I'm not paying attention
