The crank walk problem is almost eliminated by bypassing the clutch switch so you can start the engine without pushing in the clutch. This, and raising your engine's idle RPM will help keep the thrust bearings in good shape. The guys over at
SF have dealt with the crank walk issue for a while now, so they've been pretty thorough with finding a solution.
