As for this engine hypothetical...
If the auto industry was willing to put out turbo cars as undrivable as the turbo cars of yesteryear we'd see small turbo 4s pushing out 350hp minimum. Go look at what rally cars are pushing these days. Some of those rallycross cars are getting 800+hp from turbo sub 2l engines.
The tech is there. What about the demand and customer base?
