So i recently joined the 240sx club from being a mr2 guy for while and have a question with this whining/chirping sound. It has the stock ka with nothing but an intake and nice overflow bottle. I looked into the strange noise and most say to remove upper timing guide. So i did that and replaced valve cover seals. (which were toast). I also did a tuneup and the noise is still there. It goes away at about 1500 to 1700 rpms. I don't know what else it could be maybe a bad ac or ps pump. Maybe a harmonic balancer? Sounds more like a pulley. Here is a vid.
