It installs behind the flywheel so to do it correctly you will need to pull the transmission and clutch assembly. You can always cut the top of the plate out just wide enough so that it will slip past the crank, you will need to unbolt the transmission, remove the bolts and starter, then move it back about half an inch to slide the plate in. All depends on how much effort you feel like putting in.
