Drifting can be pretty cool, when it's done right.

For the most part, it's trash culture, perpetuated by stupid fucks who can't drive and don't deserve to touch so much as a smart car.

It doesn't need to be the greatest car ever to be great at specific stuff - being a rwd sports car doesn't just mean drift, it means it's an actual sporty car capable of actual spirited/sporty/controlled driving - it's too bad that a combination of drifting and an irrational obsession with parting out every 240 ever made will kill them all - and when there's just a few, all the things that make it a great car and fun to work on will be gone (that is, aftermarket support, knowhow, innovation, availible parts, etc).

And not being the greatest car ever doesn't mean even one deserves to be cut up when it has not been totaled.

The problem seems to be that 240 guys are often not real car guys - they're posers looking for obnoxious ways to get attention. They don't love cars, plain and simple - they love attention.

This is not to say that trashy can't be classy - love a good ratrod, or original/unrestored car that is repaired as it's necessary to make it function - but that's a far cry from what's done to 240s.
