Finally got some time to get a few things done:

Went with a modified GTE oil pump from Powerhouse:

#1 oil pan prepped as follows: (soap/water, aluminum acid wash, soda blast, wash well again, WD40 on bare alumium surfaces to prevent oxidation, 500deg cermic paint for external surfaces only):
