Check the wiring at the ecu, the speed cut trick works for the ka iirc, but one of the drawbacks were no speedometer.
I also forget which pin it is I want to say 32? Don't quote me, lol.

And yes, consult would be the easiest way to verify a speed signal when the signal is not reaching cluster.
