Some of them are smart coils, others require an ignitor. The ones on my car are "dumb" coils and I'm running a factory ignitor. Give AEM a call and see what they recommend. You can always get dumb coils and utilize an aftermarket ignition system for them. This would allow you to increase dwell time, resulting in a better spark. You'll melt the S15 coils trying to get more dwell time out of them.
