Completely agree. When he ACA was first put into place, I was entry level in the work force so could barely afford health insurance and the marketplace was more expensive than my company. As I was moving up and making more money, my premiums went up at the same rate. So the question is, who the hell did it help? People claimed it’s no different than being required to get car insurance but that’s complete bs. If I lost my car insurance there is no fine for not having it unless caught driving uninsured. How many health insurance companies ended up going under from this? If there are less companies now doesn’t that mean less competition? Less competition usually means prices go even higher. Many doctor’s offices had to hire extra staff just to deal with claims bc all these insurance companies were trying their hardest to stay afloat and pay the least possible. Something that was always simple received a nice thick layer of bureaucracy on top of it, which as we all know, increases cost.
