I was thinking of doing the same thing a while agow.. but I was talking to a friend of mine that did competitions and built boxes.. he was sayin that it wasnt a good idea to place the subs so they fire at eachother becouse it will lessen the volume and distort the sound. while it still could be better then what you wanted,.. it isnt what you payed for equipment wise.
I am curently working on a setup of mounting 3 8's in the passthrew with a custom removable box for when I want to save some weight on the autoX course. I customized a ebay rear STB to mount toward the back of the passthrew almost touching the trunk hinges. I beleave I will be close to the 1 or 0.75cuft per sub they ask for ( I cant remember exactly ) I was goinna use that space behind the panneling to mount my amps and keep all that hidden with alot of airflow.
some of you might be thinking I am insane.. but autoX tires are big and I need the the trunk space for tools and tire,.. and the back seat for tires and I didnt wanna have to cary my box up 3 floors along with the tires back down every time I raced.
