Because people keep running around spitting in their cousin's mouths, sucking on door knobs, and eating each other's asses. Essential workers first makes sense. They're the ones spreading it, not the elderly who have been locked up since March. Idk why that guy threw race into the mix in that quote (didn't read the article - don't wanna sign up, so idk the exact context), but aside from that, I get his point from an economic point of view. Ethically, I'm not sure I agree, which is ironic if he's an expert in ethics haha
