Nah, I just got tired of talking to myself.

That's all we ever do in here, right? Masturbatory statements in either direction, achieving nothing.

Joe Biden's old and senile, Donald Trump's a pants-shitting rapist liar. It's sad that our best choice is to vote for the old senile guy because the alternative is electing a pants-shitting rapist liar for a second time. One would like to write "fucked, innit?" as a candidate but needs to vote against the pants-shitting rapist liar.

The newest Culture War derailed discourse so severely that it's going to take a solid generation to unfuck... after which we'll be behind in literally everything.

No pol's willing to try to fix immigration the proper way, no pol's willing to fix gun control and crime the proper way, no pol's willing to fix cities the proper way.

Broad strokes have never been fixes, only band-aids. Republicans don't want to fund fixes of any kind, liberals are scared of the depth and breadth of the required fixes and their effect on their careers in politics (and in business), real progressives aren't going to get anywhere or last more than one term against enemies like the preceding.

Do you have any idea how much time it takes to get to the bottom of an issue, identify all the possible contributing factors, drill through those to their contributing factors, then disassemble it all against a backdrop of existing laws and regulations? Every single fucking issue in the United States is hundreds if not thousands of pages of history, graphs, charts, and legal filings- and that's only the objective side of things. The subjective also matters, the heart of certain issues is the best way to also get society to move forward and reduce spending and complexity.

It all sucks. We expect competence and we get The Real Housewives instead, everyone competing for sound bites and screen time. And you wonder why the lefties stopped posting...
