You can get a used US rebar for free. I throw them out usually when I part a car, I'm sure others do as well. In fact, I've got a Kouki model rebar under my house that's waiting to get thrown out, although I'm in Atlanta so the shipping might hurt.

Ask around, you can find one for next to nothing and cutting it requires very little skill. A lot less effort than locating and shipping a JDM one.
