Welding? Epoxy? Oversized Nuts?
Just replace the oilpan. It's a HUGE pain in the ass, but if any of the above fails on your GF's car, the motor is toast. I just couldn't handle the constant checking of the oilpan to see if it's still holding up. Just do it right the first time...
Make the shop pay to have it redone at honda.
