Early 90's MR2s came standard with manual steering, I don't even know if it was an option. It's there for driver assist and thats about it.
I have no problems whatsoever with no power steering after 6+ months without. It's become so natural driving around town that parking and numerous street corners/maneuvers could be done single handily, though it's bad driving etiquette. And I'm a scrawny guy weighing in close to 120lbs!
I've competed in two autoX events so far this season, and the car feels great, especially the slaloms!
We'll see how it goes later this summer on the somewhat local 1.8mile road course.
