The calibration only happens w/ a new sensor (happens automatically, somehow the LM1 knows when a new/different sensor is attached) or if you hit the calibration button. The LM-1 also remembers the calibration when power is cutoff. I had modified my LM-1 to remove the 9V battery and use a 12V to 9V converter, so my unit completely powers down with ign off and comes on w/ ign. The wideband signal is fed to my Motec M600 and I daily drive with it. It works pretty good, but if I had to do it again now I would just get the LC-1, it is much more compact and no extra mods needed to have it power up/down with ign.
