here's a plan:

buy or download a FSM (factory service manual)

-the FSM has a 'basic maintenance' section.
-every weekend, do one of those basic maintenace items (changing the oil, coolant flush, changing belts, etc.)
-note you will need to invest in parts, tools, and misc stuff to get jobs done
-as problems crop up, fix them. and trust me... you WILL have problems (that's what the FSM is for)
-after you've owned the car a few months, you should start to get a feel for what you should be doing next.
